Uses
There are many ways in which you can use this API, if you think about it, the list is MUCH longer than this:

Demographics

This example below shows population centers in San Francisco filtered by a certain demographic.

It's much easier to see how a certain demographic concentrated when you see it using a heat map.   Of course you can use any data you want to show any demographic data element you want on your maps.
Risk Management

This example shows areas in a city that are subject to more risk due to several factors that are represented in the underlinging data.

Of course your data can be anything you want, all you have to do is pass it into the API.
Equipment Management

This example shows the broadcast range for a cell phone tower based on signal strength data.

As you can see, your maps can look anyway you want, you simply integrate your heat map with your software.
